Paul Trickett to support epic Merseyrail network run for Centre 56

In February 2025, Bathgate BDM Paul Trickett will be supporting Centre 56 Fundraising Officer, Alex Rigby, on part of his epic challenge to run the FULL Merseyrail Network and raise £35k for the charity.

Paul will be joining Alex at Waterloo station and carrying the baton to Seaforth & Litherland, running 14 miles of the 105 mile route.

Alex will complete the ultra-marathon length route, visiting all 69 stations on Merseyrail’s Wirral and Northern Lines in just over 24 hours.

The challenge begins in Chester and takes in all the furthest points of the network including Ellesmere Port, West Kirby, New Brighton, Headbolt Lane, Ormskirk, and Southport before finishing at Hunts Cross.

All funds raised will go to Centre 56, a unique charity based in Kirkdale, which supports families who have experienced domestic abuse or crisis situations. The charity puts children first, noting the profound impact that witnessing abuse can have on their development and confidence, and provides a safe, nurturing space for them to learn to process these experiences.

Paul said: “When Alex asked me to get involved, he was fresh from an epic training run, so I could hardly say no! The work that Centre 56 does is also absolutely vital to so many families. It’s been a while since my last running challenge, so this has given me some fantastic motivation to get out there and train in the dark winter months.”
