Bathgate wins at national NACFB awards

Bathgate Business Finance has been named “Welsh Broker of the Year” at the NACFB Commercial Broker Awards 2026. The business finance specialist was also a finalist in the Invoice Finance Broker of the Year (4+ Brokers), sponsored by Time Finance, at the prestigious national awards.
The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) is the UK’s largest independent trade body for commercial finance brokers, whose annual awards celebrate broking excellence across its member community.
The NACFB Welsh Broker of the Year award, sponsored by Novuna Business Finance, recognises brokers who understand the opportunities and challenges facing Welsh SMEs, build trusted relationships and use their regional knowledge to deliver finance that strengthens businesses, supports resilience and unlocks growth.
Gordon Andrews, MD at Bathgate Business Finance, said: “During its 35 years, Bathgate has supported a host of Welsh businesses with finance solutions for all stages, from start-up to growth and scaling, working closely with Bank of Wales and Development Bank of Wales.
“This year, we cemented our commitment to business and enterprise in the region by launching a dedicated base at M-Sparc in Gaerwen, where we could maintain a physical presence and support M-Sparc’s mission to ignite ambition and innovation to power a sustainable Wales.
“We are extremely proud to win the Welsh Broker of the Year award at this year’s NACFB awards. It is a testament to our team’s hard work and commitment to businesses in the region, particularly Gary Beggs and Ian Adams, who have led our operations there.
“We remain committed to helping businesses in Wales to realise their potential for even greater innovation and economic growth and look forward to working with businesses that will create employment and generate greater opportunities and prosperity for local people and communities.”
Recent Welsh deals secured by Bathgate include a £1.5 million loan to assist the charity Adferiad to purchase the former Blind Veterans Centre in Llandudno and transform it into Parkland Place, a 40-bed detoxification facility, providing safe, structured detox for adults with substance use disorders, including individuals with additional complexities; a complex £7.5 million deal for working capital for a Bala-based manufacturer, ahead of peak trading periods; £150k unsecured term loan for Wildhorse Brewery in Llandudno to purchase a tap room and expand its brand and a £360k commercial mortgage over 7 years for electrical contractor in Mold (Mold), obtaining finance to cover shortfall in deposit and commercial mortgage with a specialist agricultural funder.
