Wine Tasting Raises Thousands for Hospice

On Thursday 7th December Bathgate hosted a wine tasting event for 150 guests at the Old Palace in Chester. The event was organised by Bathgate, Barclays, Allianz and Cynergy and hosted by Paul Ffoulkes from Barclays

As well as an evening of sampling fantastic wines and networking with industry peers, there were delicious canapes, pizza, and a raffle and heads and tails game to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice.

An impressive £2,080 was raised during the evening, and organisers anticipate receiving match funding to bring the total to £4,080.

It was the first time the annual wine tasting event was held at The Old Palace, which is one of the earliest Georgian buildings in historic Chester, built in 1751, and now an exclusive-use venue with 23 ensuite bedrooms and riverside views across The Groves and River Dee.

Ian Adams from Bathgate Business Finance said: “We had a wonderful evening in an absolutely stunning venue and raised a fantastic amount for Nightingale House Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care services for those with life-limiting illnesses.

“Only 20 percent of the hospice’s funds come from statutory sources, so it relies on community fundraising to continue its incredible work. We would like to thank the generosity of our guests and we know that the hospice will put all monies raised to excellent use.”
