Bathgate “wraps” up 2025 volunteering at The Hive

Team members from Bathgate Business Finance have wrapped up 2025 by volunteering at The Hive on Thursday 18th December.

Paul Trickett, Esther Rigby, Gordon Andrews, Mary Wilson, Natalie Dye and Clare Gilbert joined other volunteers for a festive session, wrapping gifts to be distributed to young people in Wirral whose families may not be able to afford presents or even basic essentials this year. The business has also donated items including games, toys and makeup to the 2025 Christmas Gift Appeal.

The Hive offers young people from Wirral a safe place, offering opportunities and experiences they can’t find anywhere else and a trusted team of youth workers they can talk to. As well as providing fun, they empower young people to build their resilience, skills, ambition and knowledge for adult life.

Gordon Andrews, MD at Bathgate Business Finance said: “This was our second year joining in the festive fun at the volunteer wrapping session and supporting The Hive’s festive campaign. We had such a fantastic time last year, and this year didn’t disappoint!

“Many families in Wirral are facing a difficult winter, unable to afford food or heating, let alone festive gifts. Like The Hive, we believe that no child should go without a present, food and warmth – at Christmas or any time of the year. That’s why, as well as our annual donation to The Hive, being part of the festive campaign is so important to the team.

“Showing up for the community is part of Bathgate’s ethos and we had a fantastically jolly time working alongside other little helpers who feel the same. The Hive team was brilliant, keeping us well-fuelled with tea and tasty treats, motivated with Christmas songs. Thank you for looking after us and for all the amazing work you do!”

As founder patrons and members of the Hive 100 Business Club, Bathgate supports the fantastic work of The Hive with an unrestricted annual donation that the organisation can use as it pleases, to address its greatest needs, as well as lending a hand when volunteering opportunities arise.
